Electronic Music Production

(with Ableton Live)

This class will introduce students to the basic concepts of digital audio production with Ableton Live. Students will learn to operate software synthesizers, drum machines and MIDI control while exploring the sounds of dubstep, glitch, hip hop and other genres. We'll learn about the history of digital audio production, study the work and methods of various Ableton producers and learn to perform produced music in a live setting. Each week students will have the opportunity to collaborate with the instructor and other students in a supportive "open lab" environment.
