AIMS: Apprenticeships, Internships, Mentorships, Support

do it together

The one-size-fits-all system doesn’t fit all. Despite the best intentions and hard work of our public education system, it cannot often provide personalized support and real-life experiences, especially for marginalized and alternative students. Enter Cada Casa’s AIMS program. By providing personalized apprenticeships, internships, mentorships, or just support, we help learners of all ages progress in their passion exploration. At times this looks like a formal mentor with structured (and paid) meetings that provide the opportunity for the apprentice to see how the process of a professional project. Other times, it’s just loaning out the equipment needed for an artist to be able to explore the next step. Sometimes you just need a little help getting your business off the ground and don’t know where to start. Regardless, we are here to support our community.

I was just thinking about you and Cada Casa and I've been counting my blessings… and I gotta say, you are one of the fucking blessings. Like out of the ones that define my career and shit, man, like you actually are the starting point. Like you, you really believed in me and like helped me get access to these programs and like further, I don't know, it further developed my art and shit and I'm extremely thankful for that, bro.

Like I think you've gotta know that you unlocked a lot for me and like, I just like keep counting my blessings and you know, everything you did for me bro. From that first day in the bus to me like coming up to you and being like, yeah, I do music. I heard you have a sound system and shit. Like, that was the beginning point till up until like me leaving the US man, you really, you really believed in me and shit.

Tymon was an unforgettable mentor for me and many other creatives in the portland up and coming music industry. From creating merch, to show running, set design, sound operation, sound equipment, and even throwing shows with us. From the age of 16 Tymon always offered his help and guidance and was exceptional when it came reliability and knowledge. On behalf of everyone, we wouldn’t be where we are now if he wasn’t here. We need more people in the world like you Tymon.

Tymon and Cada Casa has been an instrumental force in my artistic journey. From guiding me through my first art class to helping me work on lettering murals, his expertise and encouragement have been invaluable. Tymon’s guidance and his example have shaped the way I teach art. Cada Casa taught me how to screen print and it has opened new avenues for me and my music band in our pursuit for fashion design. I have felt nothing but support from Cada Casa in pursuing my dreams and passions. I'm deeply grateful for Tymon’s generosity and the significant impact he's had on my career and personal growth.

Tymon Emch, created this beautiful non-profit for kids like me. He truly cares for the community and the next generation, in my personal endeavors Mr.Emch has taught me many skills that have developed me as a person and my goals of being a business owner, aside from skills and characteristics he was my savior for getting me out of the streets where I wasn’t supposed to be. My experience at Cada Casa is a unique one and Mr. Emch really takes the time to care for you which I’m deeply thankful for, he listens to you and if want something he’s going to help you get it, he does all of these events for the community and I always even see random people come up to him and thanking him for trying to change it in a positive way, I am fully employed in a law firm while having my General Construction business and pursuing my Law School education thanks to Mr. Emch, in a world I wasn’t supposed to be , Tymon Emch MADE me be, I see peers of mine successfully achieving their goals and dreams doing their own unique crafts and passions , and I love to see that happening. This man sacrifices everything while having a family at home to see HIS community strive for greatness. His former students and his current students thank Mr .Emch for all his efforts and time spent helping us when he shouldn’t be. I was, I am, and I will be . Thank you Mr,Emch and Cada Casa

I met Tymon through a friend I had at the time, and instantly I could tell this guy wanted to make a difference. Although he had not known me for long, Tymon made it possible for me to screen print my art so that I could sell it at an event that he also organized. I was shocked. Here’s a guy who provided all the materials and the resources to make one of my biggest dreams come true; sell my art even though I did not have any money for material or the confidence to do it alone. He provided me with the resources I needed, but also inspired me to continue pursuing art and told me he would be there for support. Tymon hosted the event and also provided all the sound equipment, tables, lights so that the event would be a big hit and it was. I ended up getting my Bachelor’s in Graphic Design and I always remember Tymon and what he did for me. This world needs more organizations like Cada Casa and more people who actually care to make a difference like Tymon does.

Cada Casa and Emch introduced screen printing and clothing design to a few of my friends and I our junior year in high school. He taught us the entire process from ordering shirts and products online to customizing them on Adobe exactly how we wanted. This experience opened an entire new approach to apparel for myself and my friends. Mr. Emch not only taught us how to make the clothing but he included how to market our products and create a business like mindset. After only a few months of screen printing experience, I was hired at a local screen printing warehouse through the connections of Cada Casa. I was impressed by how a hobby after school had opened up this opportunity for me. I was able to use that job as experience in my recent interviews for higher positions. I owe a large amount of my creativity and overall product management to Cada Casa and Mr. Emch. Not to mention they host some pretty killer fashion and artist shows.

There are countless ways Tymon Emch help support and uplift many of the creative endeavors. Getting my hands dirty roasting coffee beans and diving into screen printing wasn't just about learning skills; it was about discovering a passion. Roasting taught me the art of precision and consistency, while screen printing sparked my creativity. These experiences weren't just about what I did, but how they shaped me, teaching me dedication, creativity, and problem-solving. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for Emch’s passion for helping his students, and everything he taught me has set me up to be successful after graduating high school.n goes here
